TARŠKUTIS

Alytus youth centre dance and song ensemble „Tarškutis" was found in 1987. The founders and the leaders of this ensemble are Rima and Leonidas Moisejenkos. They still run it. There are 1 instrumental and 5 choreographic groups in the ensemble. Nowadays more than 140 children (4 - 20 years old) and 30 adults dance and play in „Tarškutis". Young musicians play: violins, accordions, cembalos, wooden bells, drums, cellos, hornpipes, clarinets and other. The dancers (90 members) are led by choreographers Justina Ambroževičiūtė and Neringa Vekeriotaitė. 
For the past 30 years the ensemble gave more than 900 concerts not only in Lithuania, but also in Latvia (1994), Germany (1994), Czech Rep. (1995, 1998), Poland (1995, 2008, 2012, 2013, 2016), Turkey (1997, 2005), Belgium (1998, 2004, 2008), Spain (1999, 2006, 2015), Russia (2000, 2007), Hungary (2001, 2004), Slovakia (2003), Finland (2003, 2010), Slovenia (2007), Denmark (2007), Greece (2008, 2014), Belarus (2008), Holand (2008, 2009), Italy (2009, 2011), Ukraine (2010), Portugal (2010), Serbia (2011), Macedonia (2012), Croatia (2013), France (2014, 2017), Montenegro (2016), Bulgaria (2017).
,,Tarškutis" is a member and winner of many respublic celebrations, festivals and competitions.
,,Tarškutis" was placed as the best folklore music ensemle of 2005 in Lithuania, so the ensemble got the award ,,Golden bird" .
In 2006 and 2007 ,,Tarškutis" performed in TV show ,,Gero ūpo" finale in Nida and the ensemble earned the 3rd places. 
,,Tarškutis" also participated in the 4th Vladimiras Spivakovas fund's international festival ,,Maskva pasitinka draugus"(,,Moscow meet the friends"). ,,Tarškutis" participated in EUROPEADOS international festivals in 2006 and 2007 in Spain and Denmark.
The ensemble ,,Tarškutis" is the member of the World lithuanian songs festival in 1994, 1998, 2002, 2003, 2007, 2009, 2012, 2014, 2016.
„Tarškutis" has recorded 5 CDs: „Mano Dzūkija" („My Dzūkija",1995), 
„Jaunystės valsas" („Waltz of youth",1998), „Sapno paukštė" („Bird of dream", 2002), „Ateisiu pas tave" („I will come to you" 2007), „Šokcie mes išjosim" („We will ride to dance", 2012).
Rima Moisejenkiene, creative director of Tarškutis, awarded the IGF Gold Star (Ex. Oscar in folklore) in Italy 2016.
